How to Install a Cardboard Spray Booth Filter
We are often asked how our Procart booth filters are best fitted into a spray booth. Fitting these filters isn't a difficult task, but these simple steps, if followed, will ensure the filters are fitted correctly.
As with most tasks, they are easy once you know what you are doing, so this list will help you fit your filters correctly:
- Switch off the spray booth and wait for the fan to stop.
- Remove the existing filter and dispose of it correctly.
- Clean the framework by removing all dust and any hard paint.
- Sweep the floor of the spray booth and the floor and walls behind the filter.
- Carefully open the filter box along the long edge
- Measure the width of the filter frame into which the filter will be fitted.
- Allow a minimum of 26 folds and a maximum of 30 folds per metre of filter.*
- Add an extra couple of folds to each end of the required length
- Cut the filter at the required length with a sharp knife.
- Compress the cut filter and hold it in both hands.
- Install the filter into the middle of the spray booth frame.
- Gently spread the filter out towards both sides of the filter frame.
- Fix the filter at each end of the spray booth frame.
- Spread the folds so that they are equally spaced over the length of the filter.
* When cutting the filter, you should allow a minimum of 26 folds and a maximum of 30 folds per metre. This means that if the width of the filter frame (into which the filter is to be fitted) is 2 metres, you should count off a minimum of 60 folds and a maximum of 72 folds per length. You should also allow an extra 4 folds per length to allow 2 folds at each end for holding the filter in place.
