Why are these called slimline filters?
Quite simply because they are very thin. These measure around 10mm thick which the maximum thickness where the media wraps around the metal frame, the filtration media itself is around 4mm thick.
The size I want isn’t shown, can I have them made to my exact size?
Yes you can. We can’t put all of the sizes on the site (or rather we are not going to) so we simply list the most popular. It is quite probable that the size you want isn’t shown but all you need to do is contact us with the size you want and we will confirm the price and availability.
How many times can I wash the filter?
There isn’t really a maximum number of times, it rather depends upon how vigorous you are with you cleaning and, of course, what it is that you are removing from the filter. If you only need to gently rinse the filter under a tap then it will last far longer than if you rinse it with a pressure washer.
What will this filter from the air?
This type of filter is not designed to filter fine dust particles but rather larger particles that could cause damage to fans or unnecessarily block a finer secondary filter.
Where can I use this filter?
As long as it isn’t being used as a fine filter then it can be used in any number of applications as it has very little effect on the airflow. It can be used with anything that has a fan that needs to be protected, also air conditioning units, downdraft work benches and even spray booths.
If you feel that this type of filter would be very useful within your spray booth or product preparation area but you need to remove fine dust from the air then if you spray both of the filter faces with PRTOTECNET or PROTECNET H (you can find of these under Protective Coatings) this will help to capture the dust. They are both water-based products that stay tacky hence their ability to capture and hold dust and , being water-based products, they can be easily washed away when the filter is full.
