Pleated Carbon Panels

Pleated Carbon Panels

SKU:1119

Our carbon coated air panels are a synthetic disposable filter coated in highly active powdered activated carbon. These filters can be used in any existing panel filter application where some odour reduction and fume adsorption is required. Typical applications would include spray booth extraction, filtering air entering a building especially if situated near busy roads, car parks or flight paths. Each panel is constructed by bonding a carbon coated pleated filter media into a water repellent card frame.

This carbon pleated panel filter is a synthetic disposable product which is coated in highly active powdered activated carbon. The filter can be used in any existing panel filter application where some odour reduction and fume absorption is required. It is designed to remove light industrial smells and particles of 5+ microns from your spray booth air or in an air supply which is drawn from busy road areas, car parks or from under flight paths. The carbon coated pleated filter media is housed in a water repellent cardboard frame which makes them both light as well as strong and easy to handle.

The heaviest AquaKote is used at 710 microns. The Elmendorf wet tear strength is rated at 6963mN. The adhesive used is formulated to maintain adhesion even if wet. The expanded steel backing to the media is designed to provide maximum support whilst offering minimal airflow resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between these and your Bonded Carbon panels?

Whilst they both contain carbon the similarities really end there. Firstly, these are obviously pleated panels and the bonded are flat panels. This means that these pleated panels do have a much larger surface area than the bonded therefore the flow rate is much higher. The second, and main, difference is the amount of carbon in each filter. The filtration media in the pleated panels is a carbon impregnated cloth but the bonded panels are constructed from carbon granules that are bonded together into a sheet of various thicknesses. This means that they contain far more carbon then these pleated panels therefore have a different use.

When is it best use for these panels?

The pleated panels are best suited when you wish to either remove low levels of contamination from air being extracted from production areas or from air entering a building such as from beside busy roads. They are also a good choice if you have very low extraction speeds that would not be sufficient for higher resistant filters. These panels are also a good option if you are unsure if you should have levels of filtration in addition to those used for the capture of dust or paint particles.
