Profibre Paintstop 100mm

Our Profibre spray booth filter rolls are the most common and widely used form of fibreglass filtration. This green & white filtration material is used in many areas both as a primary and as a secondary filter for spray booth extraction as well as for filtering heavy dust and even, in some cases, air entering a booth or product preparation area.

The folded 'accordion' design, of this Procart B spray booth filter, ensures a high paint holding capacity whilst maintaining maximum airflow for much longer than many types of air filtration alternatives such as fibreglass rolls. Our spray booth filters will ensure that air, from your product finishing area, is filtered effectively.

This Procart spray booth filter is designed to filter all types of water and solvent based paints and other types of coating but not powder paints or dust (for this we recommend the use of our Procart M2 or Procart H booth filters). With this design of paper filter your overspray is captured on both on the face of the filter and within the folds which allows the booth air to pass through the filter with minimal obstruction until full, thus a constant, smooth airflow is maintained for much longer than using other types of extraction filtration. What is so important about airflow? Without it you don't have a proper functioning spray booth and you won't be able to produce a proper finish so a good airflow is vital to the running of your spray booth.

If you are looking to spray powder or very dry or dusty paints or feel that your spray booth may suffer from a high percentage of overspray or you are experiencing problems with dust or paint traveling through your ducting and ending up outside of your factory then you may want to look at the other options within our Filtration range or feel free to call us on 01673 895130 or email us for further assistance.

If you require a non-standard size then simply select the closest standard size larger than your required size. During the check-out process you can complete your required size in the box for special requests. If you would prefer to tell us your requirements then this is fine however you can still purchase your filters here.

Our filter rolls are constructed from progressively built glass fibre which gives a filter media that is designed primarily for the filtration of solvent based paint and lacquer-particles. We supply Profibre on rolls with a standard length measuring 20-metres. Standard width sizes range from 0.5-metres right up to 2-metres with the most common being a width of 1-metre giving 20m2 of booth filter per roll. Profibre is very easy to cut so can easily be made to fit any size of spray booth with very little effort. We would normally recommend that Profibre is used as an extraction filter as opposed to filtering the air entering an area as the density is not generally high enough to filter the fine dust particles carried in normal air.

PLEASE SELECT THE WIDTH OF ROLL THAT BEST SUITS YOUR REQUIREMENTS

Our PROPORA filtration rolls have been designed to be used with water-based paints/coatings. As this type of spray is very different from standard solvent-based products the filter has to be slightly different in order to maintain constant filtration.

If you use or are planning on using our Profibre or Propora rolls and have exceptionally dry & dusty spray then you could benefit from using PROTECNET (see accessories). This is a water-based spray that is designed to stay tacky and will attract & hold onto dust. We have many customers who have found that by spraying Protecnet onto their filtration roll they have been able to keep more of the dust held within the fibre. This is also a very good option if you are planning to use this medium as an input filter. Normally Profibre would not be a good option for filtering the air entering a spraying or preparation area as it is not dense enough to hold onto fine particles but with the use of Protecnet the fibre is able to hold onto very fine particles. Alternatively we can offer our PROCART K range that combines the benefits of a material on a roll with the absorbency and ease of use of our cardboard filters.

Handling this material makes my arms itch. Is there anything I can do?

You should really be wearing protective clothing such as long sleeve coveralls, safety glasses, face mask and gloves when handling Profibre and other fibreglass materials as the dust and fibres can cause aggravation to skin, breathing and eyes. An alternative to all of this is to use our Procart K or Procart KH filter. This is a paper-based material (no skin aggravation) that is also supplied on a roll so can be used in the same installations as Profibre fibreglass. It also has the benefit of a greater paint holding capacity so does not require changing as often as fibreglass filters.

I have just cut a piece from the roll and it is not 110mm thick.

The fibre is wound tightly onto rolls during the manufacturing process so when it is first opened the material will be thinner than the stated 110mm. Once the material has rested the fibres will go back to their original thickness. Just give it a couple of minutes.

Which is the front of the Profibre?

With all our fibreglass filtration products there is a back and a front. It may not always be obvious, but it is important that the product is fitted correctly so that you are getting the most efficient and effective filtration.

Our PROFIBRE rolls are coloured green and white and it is the green side that faces into the spray booth therefore it is this face that the overspray hits. If you are using our specialist PROPORA filter, then it is the purple side that faces into the spray area.

You have three different types of fibreglass filter. Which is best?

All of the filters are designed for a different purpose so it is a little unfair to ask which is best or to compare them directly however the Progiallo and the Profibre are similar to each other so to compare these two the Progiallo has a higher paint holding capacity and will hold onto dust particles that could be dislodged from the Profibre. Therefore the Progiallo could be seen as being a better product than the Profibre but it does come at a slightly higher price. The Propora has the highest paint holding capacity of all three products and can be used with water based paints but it is not impregnated.
